Haween Enterprises, a division of the Somali Women & Children’s Support Network, is a community based sewing enterprise that provides training, work experience and employment opportunities , business skills , transferable skills, workplace safety , and social support for immigrant and low-income women through the provision of services to the textile industry, manufacturers, and private companies and individuals.
At SWCSN, we have learned that one of the most effective strategies to support low-income immigrant women to make the transition to a sustainable livelihood and full participation in Canadian society is to use to their existing skills and experience as an entry points. In 2002, we started Haween Enterprises (www.haweenenterprise.com), a company providing custom contract manufacturing to the apparent, promotion products, and industrial sewn products.
